Days 2 & 3 - Pittsburgh to Chicago

Day 2 - Pittsburgh, PA

Carnegie Science Center- Very fun. Dave and I got in for free with the educator discount!

Mattress Factory- This old factory is filled with art installations in every room. A must see if you ever visit Pittsburgh.

Day 3 -- We arrived in Chicago an hour early because of the time change. Thank goodness. It was a long seven hour car ride.

Ohio Street Beach - I never really thought of Chicago having a real beach.

View from the Navy Pier-- Lake Michigan

360 Degrees Chicago at the John Hancock Observatory

Deep-dish pizza at Gino's East- not a fan, but kids loved it.

Day 1 - June 27, 2014

Somerset, PA - Lunch at Fox's Den Pizza and Hoagies -3 Stars- Good cheap lunch worth the 10 minute drive off the highway.

Mill Run, PA - Fallingwater Estate by Frank Lloyd Wright- Breathtaking!
One of my first pictures taken with my new Canon Rebel.

Pittsburgh, PA -- Mysteriously upgraded to the Wyndham Grand Hotel with an amazing view of the three rivers.

We went to dinner to the The Original Oyster House on Market Square. Great dinner and cheap beers. Definitely get the Jumbo fish sandwich! We stopped for ice cream at a place called Dream Cream Ice Cream, where a part of each ice cream cone goes to a different charity that is linked to that flavor. For example, strawberry gives a donation to the Red Cross. We spoke to the owner and this is the 1st shop of it's kind. Let's open one in HP.

It's the night before we leave and our minivan is packed. Everyone is in bed except me. I told everyone that I was going to start a journal blog of where we go and what we see.

June 26, 2014 - Donaldson Park, Highland Park, NJ

Today, we went down to my vegetable garden and pulled out of the ground a 15 1/2 lb. cabbage for the 3rd grade cabbage contest.

Tomorrow, our journey begins in Pittsburgh!
